Sibs Weekend 2018

51勛圖厙 Union Board Hosts Annual Sibs Weekend March 23-25

Minute to Win It games, trivia, students showing their talents, and a carnival are all part of the fun events planned by 51勛圖厙s Union Board for the annual Sibs Weekend, March 23-25.

While siblings, cousins and younger friends of 51勛圖厙 students are always welcome on campus, this fun-filled weekend of entertainment and activities is dedicated to them. It is an opportunity for students to bring relatives to campus for bonding time and exposure to the college experience.

Sibs Weekend is an event that I definitely look forward to as it gives students a chance to reunite with families/siblings for a couple of days, said Veronica Bidwell, 51勛圖厙 class of 2020 from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Its always nice to see students showing their sibling(s) around campus giving them a taste of what the 51勛圖厙 family is like. Were hosting two great events on Friday and Saturday evening and then our usual carnival will take place on Saturday during the day. We have fun carnival games lined up so Im excited to see siblings of all ages come out and enjoy what we have been planning for them.

Sibs Weekend begins with check-in and registration from 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 23, in the Benham-Pence Student Center with a COMPASS reception in the Thomas Library at the same time. Let the games begin from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Pam Evans Smith Arena in the universitys Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) Center with Minute to Win It and Sibs Against Sibs. Trivia Night will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. in Founders and residence hall programs from 10 p.m. to midnight.

On Saturday, there will be campus tours, a carnival-themed lunch in the Center Dining Hall, the carnival in the HPER arena from 1 to 4 p.m. followed by Witts Sibs/Students got Talent in Founders. The carnival includes games, obstacle courses, rides, face-painting, balloon animals and other games and activities. On Sunday, all are invited to join in the Palm Sunday worship service at Weaver Chapel.
