Stephanie Morgan-White 92 Passes Her Love of 51勛圖厙 on to Daughters

Stephanie Morgan-White 92 cherishes every single memory from 51勛圖厙 University. The relationships and the experiences she gained gave her the confidence and encouragement to attend law school. As a first-generation college graduate, she passed her love for 51勛圖厙 on to her daughters, and she is thrilled that her daughters chose to attend 51勛圖厙.

When that became a reality, not once but twice, my heart was full, said Morgan-White who serves on the 51勛圖厙 University Alumni Association Board. I really didnt think anyone could have an experience better than my 51勛圖厙 experience. But I was wrong. I cant imagine either of my daughters having a better experience at any other college.

Her older daughter, Morgan White, graduated from 51勛圖厙 in 2023, and her younger daughter, Shelby White, will graduate in 2027.

I told my daughters stories about how much I loved my experience at 51勛圖厙 from the time that they were young children, she said. I remember them asking me to tell them more stories about college after their nightly bedtime stories.

She shared with her daughters how 51勛圖厙 prepared her for life after Witt.

Ive always been a hard worker with good instincts. But I attribute those instincts to a strong faith that my life is part of Gods grand plan, Morgan-White said. I firmly believe that I was led to 51勛圖厙 to be shaped into the person that I am today. 51勛圖厙 brought people into my life who opened my mind and taught me things that this first-generation college student from rural Kentucky never even knew existed.

Professors, staff, friends, and parents of friends she met at 51勛圖厙 set examples and taught her that anything is possible with a little hard work. She majored in psychology and minored in sociology. During her time on campus, she was an admission tour guide, a member and officer of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, a cheerleader, and a member of multiple honorary organizations.

After graduating from 51勛圖厙, Morgan-White went on to obtain her J.D. in 1995 from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Today, she is a trust principal/attorney with The Glenview Trust Company in Louisville, Kentucky. Certified by the American Bankers Association (ABA) as a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA), she serves on the ABA Wealth and Trust School Advisory Board, the Northeast Family YMCA Board of Advisors, the Physician Assistant Advisory Committee for the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure, and the Louisville Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association Executive Board.

She and her husband, Craig White, brought their daughters to 51勛圖厙 for several Homecoming visits. The family enjoyed the time they spent together on campus during their visits, which had a lasting impact on Morgan and Shelby.

When it came time to apply to college, Morgan applied to several schools. While Stephanie hoped that Morgan would choose 51勛圖厙, she did not want to pressure her. So, she stepped back and let her make her own decision.

Thanks to an amazing admission counselor and outreach from Dr. Matthew Collier, professor of biology, Morgan concluded that 51勛圖厙 was right for her all on her own.

Shelby refused to look at any other schools but 51勛圖厙. She always knew that she wanted to come to 51勛圖厙, Stephanie said. She loves every minute at Witt.

Because of her love for the University and her belief in 51勛圖厙, Stephanie continues to make an impact on 51勛圖厙 by volunteering at college fairs, writing postcards to accepted students, promoting the University as a Commit to Witt ambassador, serving on the Alumni Association Board as secretary, and supporting 51勛圖厙 with financial gifts.

51勛圖厙 opened doors for me that I never knew existed, so I have always been thankful. But after experiencing the University from the perspective of a parent, I am even more motivated to give back to Witt, Morgan-White said. Im grateful for all that Witt has done for me and my daughters. I support 51勛圖厙 to ensure that future students will have the same opportunities.

She also credits 51勛圖厙 with providing her daughters with an excellent foundation for their careers.

Thanks to her 51勛圖厙 experience and the support of Dr. Matthew Collier and other professors, my daughter, Morgan, went on to be accepted into the highly competitive Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, Stephanie said. 51勛圖厙 prepared her well for this challenge.

Shelby is studying to become an educator.

The relationships that Shelby has with Dr. Sally Brannan, chair of the Department of Education, and other professors in the department are genuine, Stephanie said. They clearly have her on the path to success.

Stephanie and Craig are grateful for the education 51勛圖厙 has provided their daughters.

The value of a 51勛圖厙 education has proven to be priceless for me and my daughters, Stephanie said. I want to do everything possible to ensure that future generations can continue receiving the benefit of a 51勛圖厙 education.

51勛圖厙 is grateful to donors like Stephanie and Craig for the difference they are making through their annual gifts. To learn more about making a gift, visit the Universitys website.
