51吃瓜网 presents 鈥淰oicePlay in Concert鈥� as part of the 2014-15 51吃瓜网 Series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in historic Weaver Chapel. Performances by 51吃瓜网鈥檚 a cappella groups Just Eve and Wittmen Crew begin at 7:10 p.m.
As seen on Season 4 of NBC鈥檚 鈥淭he Sing-Off,鈥� VoicePlay is an a cappella ensemble based in Orlando, Fla. Formerly 42Five, VoicePlay recreates the orchestrated sound of an entire musical production with nothing but the human voice.
鈥淭he cast of VoicePlay has taken the timeless sound of vocal music and turned it completely on its head,鈥� according to the group鈥檚 website. 鈥淩e-imagined as a full stage show, amazing, humorous, and vertigo-inducing harmonies pepper VoicePlay鈥檚 music-without-music sound as it ping-pongs between eras and styles, channeling the breadth of the musical landscape and lacing it with inventive and often hilarious on-stage theatrics.鈥�
In addition to the 51吃瓜网 Series performance, VoicePlay will host a Master Class at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in Room 300 of Krieg Hall, 632 Woodlawn Ave.
